Made to measureWe make it ourselves
Designed and built in our own Bayswater factory. Nothing is ordered in from a third party and reinterpreted along the way. You can visit and watch your kitchen being made.

To mark forty years we are inviting up to 40 households into our 40 for 40 Anniversary Program, with benefits from $8,000 to $18,000 towards appliances, benchtops or cabinetry upgrades.*
A designer measures your home. No cost, no obligation.
Forty years of doing it the same way
Direct Kitchens started in 1985 building custom cabinetry for boutique builders across Melbourne. Working in existing homes taught us where renovations come unstuck, and it is rarely the cabinetry. It is the disruption, the waiting, and the number of people you end up chasing.
So we built the business around that problem. We make our own cabinetry instead of ordering it in. One designer stays with you the whole way. We coordinate every trade ourselves. And we tell you the production timeline before you order, not after.
Nothing is square in an old Melbourne home. That is the difference between cabinets that line up and cabinets padded out with filler.
The first 40 households have access to exclusive anniversary benefits and upgrades. Not a clearance sale: the same custom design and the same cabinetry we have built for forty years, with a benefit value on top.
Your cabinetry value, your anniversary benefit
Use your benefit value on your choice of
Selected E&S appliance package.
Selected porcelain and stone package.
Selected cabinetry, finishes and hardware.
Most kitchen companies sell you cabinetry and leave the rest to you. These are the differences you feel once the work starts.

Fitted around what you ownEvery kitchen is designed for the space it is going into, not adapted from standard sizes. In older Melbourne homes that is the difference between cabinets that line up and cabinets padded out with filler.
Walked through, drawer by drawerThe designer who sits in your kitchen on day one is the same person you deal with through selections, ordering and installation. You are never handed off to someone new.
The finished resultRip-out, plumbing, electrical, plastering, carpentry, tiling, splashbacks and waste removal. We coordinate all of it, because sequencing six trades around a household that still needs to eat is the part that goes wrong.
No surprises. Every project follows the same five steps.
See full-scale displays, handle the finishes and open the drawers. Our consultants walk you through materials and storage.
A designer visits, measures properly and works through layout and ideas with you. No obligation attached.

Yes. A designer comes to your home, measures the space, discusses what you want and prepares a design and price. There is no charge and no obligation to proceed.
Production runs approximately six to eight weeks in our Bayswater factory once your design is confirmed and check-measured. Installation is scheduled after that, and your project manager gives you the dates in advance.
We handle them. Rip-out, plumbing, electrical, plastering, carpentry, tiling, splashbacks and waste removal are all coordinated by us. You can choose which ones you want us to take on.
In our own factory at 1 Power Rd, Bayswater. It is also a showroom, so you are welcome to visit and see how your kitchen is put together.
We service Melbourne and Greater Melbourne. If you are not sure whether you are in range, put your suburb in the form and we will tell you.
No. You get the same custom design and the same cabinetry we have been making for forty years, drawn for your space and built in our own Bayswater factory. The anniversary benefit is a value on top of that, which you choose how to spend.
A benefit value you can put towards appliances, benchtops and splashbacks, or cabinetry upgrades. The amount is based on the value of your cabinetry, starting at $8,000 and going up to $18,000. Your designer confirms the exact figure on your itemised quote.
Our team reviews your project and your plans, then calls you for a quick chat before confirming your place. If it is a fit, we book you in with a designer who visits your home, measures properly and prepares a design and price.
Apply using the form on this page. Places are limited to 40 households and are confirmed by our team after they have reviewed your project, so applying early helps. Your consultant will tell you where the count sits when they call.
Our current standard offer applies instead. Your consultant will tell you what is running at the time, so nobody who misses out is left with nothing.
No. The anniversary offer replaces our other current offers rather than stacking with them.

If a new kitchen is something you have been putting off, this is a good year to start. The consultation costs nothing and gives you a real design and a real price to work from.
Offer conditions. The 40 for 40 Anniversary Program is limited to 40 confirmed households. Benefit values are tiered by the value of your cabinetry, from $8,000 at $35,000 of cabinetry up to $18,000 at $80,000 of cabinetry, and are confirmed on your itemised quote. Benefits may be applied to selected appliance, porcelain and stone, or cabinetry, finish and hardware packages. Applications are reviewed by Direct Kitchens and a place is confirmed only after that review. Valid only where the order is placed on presentation of the design and pricing. Available to new customers only. Cannot be used in conjunction with any other Direct Kitchens offer. Direct Kitchens services Melbourne and Greater Melbourne. Direct Kitchens reserves the right to withdraw or amend this offer at any time.
