In order to achieve a stunning Hamptons Style Kitchen there are certain elements that need to be addressed. You should speak to your kitchen designer and make sure each of the following items are ticked off the list. Apart from the kitchen design aspect, there are also Fittings, Finishes, Appliances and Accessories to consider in order to create your modern kitchen with that Hamptons style coastal feel.
HAMPTONS STYLE KITCHEN CABINETRY
The shaker door style is the one that identifies the authentic Hamptons Style. It dates back to 18th century America.
This is available in either satin 2 pac paint or in a matt vinyl wrap.
You have a huge colour choice if you choose paint and a selected colour choice in the vinyl wrap.
Traditionally a white kitchen has been the go to colour, but these days there is more experimentation with accents of blues and greys added to give a more modern kitchen look.
The large kitchen Island bench is usually an important design element in a Hamptons Style Kitchen and this can become the stand out feature if accented with another colour other than white.
THE KITCHEN BENCHTOPS
The most popular style of Hamptons style kitchen benchtops have a marbled look. Engineered stone such as Caesarstone Benchtops offer a good selection of colours such as:
Calacatta Classic, Statuario Maximus, Cosmopolitan White and quite a few other Caesarstone colours. There are also a selection of laminates that mimic the “stone look” which can be used if the budget doesn’t allow for Stone benchtops.
Stay tuned for Part 3 where I will talk about suitable appliances,
including tapware and the famous butler sink!
